From Barn to RV Pad: How We Help Delaware Properties Grow with Your Needs

Growing Families, Changing Properties

HELPING OUR CUSTOMERS WITH THEIR PROPERTY, YEAR AFTER YEAR

It's funny how property needs change over time.

One year you're building a barn, the next you're figuring out where to park your new camper.

That's exactly what happened with our Delaware, OH customers, and we couldn't be happier they called us back to help.

We love these return customer projects because they show how properties grow along with families.

Every new addition - whether it's a barn, a camper pad, or anything in between - is another chapter in making your property work better for you.

When you do these projects right, each one builds on the last, making your space more useful and enjoyable.

Welcome to Double B!

Project Background

Let's back up about two years.

That's when we first worked with this family, putting in their driveway and creating a solid pad for their new barn.

We didn't just drop some gravel and call it done - we made sure everything was graded properly, with good drainage and plenty of stable ground around the building.

Fast forward to last week, and we got a call from them about their newest addition - a travel camper.

Now, anyone who's invested in a nice camper knows two things: you want it stored somewhere convenient, and you definitely don't want to tear up your yard getting it in and out of that spot.

They had a smart idea about placing it behind their barn. This does two things really well: keeps the camper protected and maintains the property's clean look.

But getting from point A to point B without ruining the yard? That's where we come in.

The Planning Process

When you're adding something new to a property, it's all about thinking ahead.

Sure, we could just drop a gravel pad anywhere, but that's not how we work. We took time to plan this out right.

The spot behind the barn was perfect - it's about 10 feet wide by 78 feet long, giving plenty of room for the camper without taking up more space than needed.

But here's where experience really comes in handy: we had to think about how the camper would actually get there.

It's not just about where it sits - it's about how it turns, backs in, and maneuvers around existing features.

Speaking of existing features, this project had some interesting challenges.

There's a solar panel line running through the area that we needed to work around carefully.

Plus, the family has this nice rock island feature they wanted to keep.

These aren't problems - they're just part of the puzzle we need to solve to make everything work together.

Smart Solutions

Here's how we're making it all work: First, we're stripping out the topsoil to create a solid base.

This isn't just about making a flat spot - it's about building something that won't sink or shift over time.

When you're moving a big camper in and out, you need that stability.

For the solar line, we worked out a deal with the customer to carefully dig it down and lay it properly.

This protects their investment in solar while making sure the new pad works like it should.

It's these little details that make a big difference in the long run.

We're also being really careful about how we transition from the driveway to the pad.

You don't want a sharp turn that's going to tear up the yard every time you bring the camper in.

By planning the approach right, we're making sure they can use their camper without worrying about damaging their property.

Why Experience Matters

Here's something we've learned over the years: every property tells a story.

Because we did the original work here two years ago, we already know how water moves across this land, where the solid ground is, and what areas need extra attention.

That kind of knowledge is priceless when you're adding new features.

Working with return customers is special because we've already built that trust.

They know we're going to think about the little things - like protecting their yard during construction or making sure their solar setup stays safe.

It's not just about getting the job done; it's about getting it done right while respecting what's already there.

Closing

Projects like this remind us why we love what we do.

We're not just building RV pads or driveways - we're helping families make better use of their properties, one project at a time.

Whether it's making space for a new barn like we did two years ago, or adding a camper pad like we're doing now, each project is about making your property work better for how you live.

Sometimes the best intentions can lead to unexpected problems. That's exactly what we found when we returned to a Granville property we'd finished grading last October. What brought us back? Three new trees planted this spring - seemingly simple additions that ended up causing significant erosion issues.

There's a common misconception in construction that faster always means better. But here's something we've learned from years of experience: sometimes the best way to finish a job isn't to rush to get it done - it's to plan your timing around the whole project.

Coming back from a holiday weekend, we got a call that would change our plans in Dublin. The homeowner had been looking at the driveway work we'd started and saw an opportunity to make it even better. Some contractors might see this as a problem - we see it as part of doing quality residential work.
