Pool Delivery Day: Behind the Scenes of a Central Ohio Installation

Double B Excavations & Grade LLC

The Big Arrival

THE REAL WORK BEGINS

There's a special kind of energy on pool delivery day.

When that truck pulls up with your new pool, it's an exciting moment - but for us at Double B, it's when the real work begins.

Today we're taking you behind the scenes of a delivery in Central Ohio to show you exactly what happens after your pool arrives.

Most folks think the hard part is getting the pool to your property.

Truth is, that's just the beginning. Once that pool (what we call a "floater") touches the ground, every move we make has to be precise.

We're not just dropping off a pool - we're setting the foundation for years of family memories.

The Delivery Process

Getting a pool delivered isn't like getting a package from Amazon. It takes careful planning, the right equipment, and a team that knows exactly what they're doing. When that truck arrives, we're already on site, ready to go. We've got our straps ready, our equipment warmed up, and a clear plan for getting that pool exactly where it needs to be.

Today's delivery is a perfect example. As soon as the pool arrived, Easton and I jumped into action. Having the right straps isn't just about moving the pool - it's about moving it safely and precisely. One wrong move with something this big, and you could be looking at serious problems. That's why we handle every delivery with the same careful attention to detail, whether it's your family's first pool or our hundredth installation.

Getting the Grade Right

Let me break down what we mean when we talk about "setting to grade." It's not just about finding a flat spot and dropping the pool there. We're looking at how the pool will sit in relation to everything around it - your yard, your patio, maybe even your house's foundation. Getting this right is crucial.

That's why we take our time with the initial placement. Once we get the pool strapped and moved to its spot, we're checking and double-checking our measurements. This isn't the kind of thing you want to rush. One small mistake in the grade now could mean water running the wrong way or uneven settling later.

The Next Day's Work

Here's something a lot of people don't realize - we actually let the pool settle overnight before final positioning. There's a good reason for this. The weight of the pool needs time to settle into the ground naturally. Trying to rush this process is asking for trouble down the road.

Tomorrow morning, we'll come back and make any final adjustments needed. Sometimes it's just a slight tweak here or there, but those small adjustments make a big difference in how your pool will look and function for years to come. This two-day process might seem like it takes longer, but trust me - it's worth every minute.

Behind the Scenes Insights

When you watch Easton and me work together on a pool delivery, it might look pretty straightforward. But there's a lot happening that most people don't see. We're constantly communicating, checking measurements, and making small adjustments. Every pool is different, and every yard presents its own challenges.

The equipment we use isn't just about power - it's about precision. We need to be able to move something as big as a pool with the accuracy of a much smaller object. That's why experience matters so much in this work. You learn to read the ground, understand how different soils will settle, and anticipate any potential issues before they become problems.

Closing

At the end of the day, installing a pool is about more than just moving a big piece of fiberglass from point A to point B. It's about creating something that's going to be part of your family's life for years to come. That's why we take every step so seriously, from the moment that delivery truck arrives until we're completely satisfied with the final placement.

Looking Forward

If you're planning a pool installation in Central Ohio, here's what I want you to remember:

  • Pool delivery day is exciting, but it's just the first step
  • Proper grading and placement take time to get right
  • Working with an experienced team makes all the difference
  • Sometimes the most important work happens after the delivery truck leaves

What's Next?

When we leave your property after that second day, you'll have a perfectly positioned pool that's ready for the next steps of installation. No worries about settling issues, no concerns about improper grading - just the peace of mind that comes from knowing everything was done right from the start.

Need help planning your pool installation? We're always happy to walk properties with homeowners before delivery day to make sure everything goes smoothly. Because when it comes to installing a pool, preparation and experience make all the difference.

Most people driving by a construction site never think twice about the foundation work. They see the finished barn or shop and figure someone just cleared some space and started building. But here's the truth - what happens before that first wall goes up determines whether your project succeeds or becomes a headache.

Not every barn pad needs to be built like it's supporting a fleet of concrete trucks. That's the reality we're working with today out in Mount Perry, where we're cutting in a 60 by 50 foundation for a livestock barn. And because we know exactly how this barn will be used, we can build it the right way without over-engi

Out in Columbus this morning, we're tackling what might look like minor issues to most homeowners. A sunken spot where an AC unit used to sit. Some concrete that's tilted the wrong way. The kind of things you walk past every day without thinking twice about them.
